april is a bubbly, in your face kid of girl. she loves being happy and doing anything possible to make others happy. she's the kind of girls that many people love being friends with while others just find her annoying. april is extremely talkative, much too talkative for her own good. as a child she would even talk to strangers, a habit that stressed her parents out too much. it's kind of hard not too like her, but her actions kind of make it obvious as too why she doesn't have many friends. although she seemes like an independent spirit, april lets herself get manipulated by other people, in hopes that they will like her. honestly, she doesn't know how people are able to make friends. it seems extremely complicated, but she has never realize that she makes it complicated by not accepting the fact that she can't change everything about herself. april is obvlious to the fact that she's already has a good personality.
she can be quite oblivious, to the point where many people have called her slow. it takes her a while to get things, and if someone asks her a question you'll always hear and umm before a five-minute silence. not to say that she's stupid, because she does get good grades, she's just not as fast when it comes to trivial stuff. ask her about anything relating to life, on the other hand, and she'll answer before you even finish asking the question. she has never felt like being book-smart was the most important thing in the world. april believes that you need to know everything, and trust me when i say that she wants to know everything. april is quite the curious girl. some might even say that she gets into other's business when she's not supposed to but it's not her fault that she's always been like that. april has been called out on the fact that she pries into people's life, but her friends have grown accustomed to it by now.
although she likes knowing everything, it doesn't mean that she'll say stuff to others. april is trustworthy, a quality that not many people expect her to bare. she doesn't like spilling other people's dirty laundry, and she hates even thinking about gossiping. not to say that she hasn't done it before, but she always feels guilty afterwards. april hates being mean, if it weren't for the fact that she hates it when people mess with her more, she wouldn't even think about saying bad stuff to others. of course like any other girl, she will never let people say bad stuff about her. she had enough of it before, but she will have none of that now. it someone speaks badly about her or people she cares about, then april will lash out and go into bitch mode. she doesn't like when people are bitchy for no reason. you could say she's quite a hypocrite because she used to be mean to people just because.
april is quite contradicting. she'll say one thing, and she'll mean something else. it's hard to agree with her because she's always changing her opinion on everything. she can just never make up her mind. it's impossible to tell her though because she's stubborn as well, and will say that she believed that all along. it's hard to get used to her at times. as was said before, she has always been quite talkative which means she's open about her opinions. okay so it doesn't really have anything to do with that, but for april it does. she enjoys saying what she thinks outloud, and you can always find her jotting down a quick thought. she's enjoys being different but at the same time she wants to fit in. contradicting, i know. she has a unique personality but she has always had that little voice in the back of her head that tells her it's better to just fit in. it's hard to to write down how she is because she changes really fast.
a few people could actually considered april to be a whore. the fact that she lets other manipulate her to fit in made others opinion of her this way. although she's merely fifteen, she's done things that not many kids her age have even heard about. it would be a lie to say that she's a virgin. just because of this little fact, and well the fact that she's fifteen, many of her classmates consider her to be slutty. yes, i know they have no right to be judging, especially since they're pretty fucked up as well, but that's life. anyways this little fact has also made it difficult for her to settle down. she feels like guys only like her because they think she's easy, and hasn't been able to be in a relationship for more than week. she hasn't made an effort to clear up her reputation as a slut because she feels like no one will really forget. sure, she wants to fall in love one day but that doesn't seem like its going to happen any time soon.

let's start at the beginning shall we? marissa brown and andrew banres - april's parent- met at the a fairly young age, after becoming neighbors when they were both five years old. throughout most of their childhood they remained friends, even though they're fathers would always joke about the day they would fall enough. seeing as the childreen were far to naive at that time to even think about having feelings for the other, they just ignored theyre fathers and continued with their friendship. fast foward a couple of years, only to find the young children all grown up and ready to graduate from their last year at westerly high school at the ripe age of eighteen. marissa and andrew are still great friends, unfortunately the pair appears to be having more intense feelings for their friend. apparently they're fathers had been right without even knowing. to make matters worse marissa was going away for college so unless andrew did something, they would lsoe something more than a friendship. weeks passed by yet nothing occured between the duo up until the day marissa was supposed to leave. andrew, in a rushed matter, appeared by her door with a letter in hand, which he carefully slipped into her bag when she had not been looking. he had been hoping that she would find it as soon as she got onto the bus, but no such luck. young andrew had not been counting on the fact that she was taking another bag, specially made for her by her grandmother. so that day, when andrew said his last goodbye to marissa, his dreams of being with her seemed to have disappeared.
four years passed before andrew ever saw marrisa again. they ahd kept in touch but it was not the same hearing about her life than actually being there with her. the years passed by in a daze for the young andrew who had last heard that marissa had a boyfriend she was madly in love with. his hopes of her return being joyful crashed as soon as she had told him that her was to arrive with her. marissa had told him about various crushes and a few boys she had dated but it had never seemed as serious as it was now. andrew was heartbroken to say the least. the day she arrived was a slightly eventful one if not totally humourously depressing. her very presence brought a smile to andrew's face but seeing the face of her boyfriend killed the happiness. marissa suggested they all go out to dinner, and after much begging on her part, andrew caved into his pleads. the entire dinner was filled with affection from the couple, and disgusted looks from andrew. it appeared to be like marissa forgot about his existence. affter an hour of :tortue" andrew excused himself, his tone filled with the bitterness he felt towards marissa and her boyfriend. the rest of her visit was unknown to andrew, he didn't dare see her again after what happened at dinner. hundreds of calls were left on her machine, pleading him to talk to her even for a second. it wasn't until he heard she was leaving again that he decided to see her for seemed to be one last time. he had no idea that while looking through her old stuff, marissa had found the letter he had left for her, professing his undenying affection for the girl.
as soon as andrew arrived at marissa's house her was met with a confused marissa who held his letter in her hands. she screamed, yelled, and cried that night until finally she told andrew that the feelings were mutual. it was easy to say that andrew was shocked, after all she was supposedly in love with her boyfriend. of course, marissa was a girl and every girl knew that making a guy jealous was the thing to do when you wanted someone, right? at least marissa thought so which was why she had gotten the guy to be her boyfriend for the visist. anyways, they didn't go into any details because at that moment, andrew became confident and finally did the thing he had always wanted to do with marissa, he kissed her. she kissed back and the rest, well, is easy to figure out. the next morning, they awoke in each other's arm, completely and utterly happy that the letter was found. unfortunately, marissa needed a few more classes before she graduated, so she packed up her bags and returned back to college, her goal to finish by the end of the semeste in time to be with andrew. she was ot expecting a small surprise that would cause her to finish her schooling faster a few weeks before the end of the semester, marissa found out she was pregnant. she was boy ecstatic and upset. although she loved andrew, she was usnure if he would be fine with the though5t of having a baby. that weekend, she drove home to tell andrew the news. as soon as she arrived at andrews house, she let it all out, letting herself get ready for the worst. to her surprise, andrew's reaction was exactly what she had not been expecting.
her picked her up in his arms, and spun her around, as excited as a young schoolgirl. it seemed her wouldn't have had it any other way. that very weekend, both of their families found out about the new coming baby and their newfound relationships. instead of being upset, they were just as happy seeing as they had all placed their own little bets on when this would occur. alas, the weekend came to end rather quickly and marissa was forced to return to school. by the time she finished, she was three months pregnant, but she was not showing yet. months passed before she was finally in labor. seeing as she was a rather small girl, it was quite difficult but marissa pulled through and was rewarded with a baby boy, which they named joshua steven barned. they're family was barely forming, and marissa and andrew could not be happier. marissa stayed in the small house andrew had gained from his grandfather's will, while andrew worked during the day. he received enough money for the three of them, but andrew knew that it wouldn't be long before he would have to get another job. and he was right because a year later, marissa was pregnant once more, and nine months later - when joshua was two- a new addition came into the family. it was another boy who was dubbed brendon james barnes. both couldn't be happier, but they knew that it was time for both of them to help out, so marissa got a small job at the local nursery, which worked out quite well considering she could take brendon and joshua with her. things remained like that for a bit over a year until marissa got pregnant yet again.
they had expected this baby to be a boy as well, seeing as they were getting a mess of boys, although they didn't mind, but were surprised when marissa went into labor only to have the first girl in the family. april arian barnes was a little devil as a child. at a young age she was quite intelligent but just like her brothers, she enjoyed cauing quite a stir of trouble. although many would have expected her to be separate from her brothers since they were somewhat rowdy, april seemed to fit right in with them, a shock and a blessing for her parents. the children stuck together through everything, especially since their parents had to get another small job to pay for the extra addition. although they both had money in the family, they didn't dare ask theyre parents because they wanted to be responsible for their own lives. anyways, as april got older, she began to learn many things rather quickly. she enjoyed doing things on her own and learning, although at times she was rather cocky, or as cocky as a young girl could be. over two years passed before a new addition was brought into the family, this time a boy by the name of stephen carson banres, the last member of the family. marissa and andrew decided that their family of four was finally completed. anyways, a year passed before april went to school with her brothers, forced to leave the youngest one behind. like her brothers, april took to new family members rather quickly, although this was the first time she was supposed to do just that. school was not that uneventful for april, many of the people knew her older brothers and it was easy to say they were rather infamous even at a young age.
she was popular amongst her classmates, having gained the same witty personality her brothers had. it was an understatement to say she was well-liked. three years passed before her youngest brother joined them in school. april's elemntary school years passed by in a blue, the only incident ever occuring turning out to be that she had asthma. middle school came only, which turned out to be a whirl-wind of events for the family. by this time, they had enough financial stability, and the sudden death of andrew's parents brought alont quite a great amount of money, though the children cared more about the death of their grandfather. anyways, during her sixth grade year, tragedy struck the family. andrew fell ill during the children's first sememester of school and died the following semester. the family was distraught to say the least, they felt empty and as if they would never get over it. unfortunately, it seemed like only the children felt that way. marissa got over it rather quickly after she met jonathan brown, a canadian "dentist" that was in texas for vacation. she fell for him and ended up moving the family from their quaint home in austion to ontario canada. it was easy to say that the children were not fine with it but they had no choice. unfortunately for them, the money that they had all gained were wasted on the move and the new house jonathan had decided to get for them without even asking their mother, not that she would have minded since she suddenly decided her was the best thing for her. the children were quickly placed into school, much to their dismay.
anyways, by this time the children, especially april, changed much of theior personality. april shut herself out from the world, only letting a few people in. this continued well until the end of her eighth grade year. the summer between eight grade year and ninth grade year was the only cvhange that occured. that was the summer april was diagnosed with cataplexy, a disease that causes muscular weakness. although by this time she had friends she trusted and was becoming like her old self again, april didn't dare tell anyone. she feared that her friends would consider her a fresk just like her step-father who thought the medication was such a waste. the barnes siblings spent the rest of the summer ingoring their step-father, much to his dismay- because he enjoyed havign a control over the family. the summer passed by without another event before finally april made it to her ninth grade year.
